N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine

N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine is a natural monosaccharide derivative (amino sugar) of D-glucose, which occurs naturally in the human body. It is a component of connective tissue, cartilage, and synovial fluid. Glucosamine can be used both as a pharmaceutical agent for degenerative diseases (such as osteoarthritis of the knee) and cosmetically in creams, gels, drops, or lotions. Our N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine is available from both animal sources (obtained by hydrolysis of shellfish) and non-animal sources (produced by fermentation of corn starch).
