Marine Proteins for the Feed Industry
Kraeber holds shares in the Norwegian company, Seagarden ASA, Asvaldsnes, which produces extracts and hydrolysates from fresh fish and crustaceans for food and feed. Kraeber has taken over marketing and sales for Seagarden products to the non-food industries in Europe.
Maripro AS, a subsidiary of Seagarden ASA, produces larvae feed for fish rearing and aquaculture. Kraeber has taken over marketing and sales in Europe.
Seagarden fish protein extracts have applications in animal feed, the fish industry, and for the production of bait attractants.
- Atantic Shrimpshell Powder
Atlantic Shrimpshell Powder is a natural crustacean flavour produced from fresh, cooked shrimp shells from the North Atlantic coldwater species Pandalus Borealis. The product is manufactured by boiling in salted water, dehydration, grinding and packing.
No additive is used.

Fish Protein Extract is a natural flavour produced from fresh and cooked fish. The paste is produced by boiling, enzyme hydrolysis, microfiltration and evaporation to a paste form with 70% dry matter. It is totally soluble in water and contains a broad spectrum of amino acids, nucleotides and water soluble flavour compounds.

Atlantic Salmon Extract Paste is produced from pure meat and cutoffs of fresh Norwegian Salmon without fish bones and guts. The product is manufactured in a controlled enzymatic process and refined by microfiltration and evaporation to a paste form with 70% dry matter. Atlantic Salmon Extract Paste is totally soluble in water and contains a mix of water soluble proteins, peptides and free amino acids.
The extract is 100% natural with no additives.

Micro-encapsulated hydrolysed fish proteins and ingredients for Larval Nutrition (patented)
The Maripro products were initially created with the aim of providing an alternative form to live feed in rearing of larvae in aquaculture.
The micro-encapsulated, hydrolysed fish protein and oil also have been proven in the rearing of pikeperch larvae and Ray finned fish (S.aurata), Seabass (D.labrax), Arctic Cod (G.morhua), and shrimp species.
The products are available under the trademark MINIPRO and offered at particle sizes ranging from 80 - 500 micron:
Maripro's manufacturing facilities are based in Karmsund, a fishing harbour near Haugesund, Norway. With manufacturing license from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority ("Mattilsynet"), the Minipro series of products is produced using a patent-pending micro-encapsulation technology.
The key raw materials used in the Minipro products are of marine origin that have been carefully selected and quality assured prior to manufacturing. The virtually dust-free microcapsules contain only approved and consistent high-quality feed ingredients. The manufacturing process is physically very gentle, which helps to preserve the more unstable, heat and pressure sensitive nutrients and vitamins within the product.
Each production step is carefully controlled and supervised by specially trained staff according to standard operating procedures to assure consistent physical and nutritional quality. Each batch undergoes vigorous QC testing and analysis in accordance to EU standards prior to being released for sale.

Beta Glucan consists in big amounts of insulated, free (1,3)-(1,6)-ß-D-Glucans of the walls of brewers yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). It is a fine ground beige coloured powder with a neutral smell and taste. Beta Glucans are said to have immune.stimulating effects on humans and animals.
